Digital Shoreditch Festival Takes Over London; GeoIP, Brands As Publishers Share Spotlight
The WP Engine team here in EMEA has had another great week. The week gave us the Digital Shoreditch Festival, engaging presentations, a terrific partner event and, of course, an evening of networking!
So where do we start?
On Monday WP Engine solutions engineer Edmund Turbin presented WP Engine’s GeoIP solution as Digital Shoreditch kicked off in East London. As a business, we put our customers first, so constant innovation is key. What do our customers want? How can we make life easier for them? We developed GeoIP because our customers needed a tool that would deliver geographically relevant content to site visitors to optimise their online journey and experience. We launched WP Engine GeoIP earlier this year, and Digital Shoreditch provided a great opportunity to present it to our audience, and the reaction was great.
On Thursday, we hosted a partner event. Eleven partners attended, and we were able to speak with each of them to provide an update on the WP Engine’s growth, share our recent news, and highlight our growing product set. We love being close with our partners, and this event gave us a great opportunity to listen to feedback so we can make sure we are delivering what our partners want.
As the clock struck 5 p.m., we welcomed 75 customers, prospects, and partners to our offices in London’s Second Home for an informal networking evening. Everyone is always so busy in our industry, so it’s nice to be able to take a step back and spend time with our community.
After a great evening, I was up early presenting to a busy audience of creatives, techies, and entrepreneurs Friday morning at Digital Shoreditch. It’s the first time I’ve had a chance to share our “Brands as Publishers” message with a wider audience. It’s something I’m really passionate about. Every day we see our customers moving toward becoming publishers–we’re more sophisticated now, so brands and websites are more reflective of this shift. It’s an exciting time for our industry!
Throughout Digital Shoreditch we also set up an area where attendees could drop in and ask questions. During the week we talked to attendees, answered questions, and provided advice on how to best manage websites – it’s great to be around so many innovative, like-minded individuals and businesses.
Overall, it was another great, busy week here in EMEA. And in case you couldn’t join us this week, you can find us at WordCamp Europe in Seville at the end of next month!
