Wrapping Up De{Code} 2020

Last month, WP Engine hosted its first completely virtual event— De{Code} 2020—which featured a full day of expert-led sessions focused on helping developers build better WordPress experiences faster.

The event was a huge success, and in addition to shattering our own expectations with regard to online attendance, we received an outpouring of positive feedback from many of the folks who took part. Much of that feedback revolved around the sessions themselves, which offered attendees actionable information they could walk away with to start building even better digital experiences using WordPress.

Indeed, each of the event’s 12 expert-led sessions (hosted by a combined 27 speakers) proved to be great learning experiences for attendees, who came looking for insights and information on everything from advanced developer workflows to building more powerful products with WordPress.

A completely virtual event 

As mentioned above, De{Code} 2020 was WP Engine’s first-ever virtual developer conference—it was designed by developers for developers with the express goal of delivering practical, real-world use cases for WordPress and ways site builders can optimize the CMS to create even better digital experiences. 

Session topics included things like implementing Schema.org into your site, finding the perfect development workflow, optimizing WordPress for speed, and advanced plugin development, just to name a few. Each session was led by industry thought leaders, WordPress experts from around the world, and members of the WP Engine team. 

Because developers are always trying to learn more and get better at their craft, we wanted to make sure we offered topics that touched on every skill level—from beginner/ novice to expert and everything in between. 

The sessions mentioned above were just a sampling of the various topics that helped make DE{CODE} 2020 such a success.
